After finishing a degree at Manchester University in 1995 Phil Mash decided to pursue his growing love of photography and film.

He worked for a year at Kairos Multimedia filming and editing videos for local Charities before getting a job at Shepperton Studios working as a camera assistant for Transmission TX learning on the then brand new digital formats.

He worked there for 2 years assisting on all kinds of shows, from tv dramas like "Dream Team" to children's tv shows such as 'Teletubbies'.

In 1998 he went freelance and started pulling focus on commercials, pop promos, and short films working on Digi Beta and 16mm film.

Since 2000 he has been operating and lighting on increasingly more prominent tv shows. And in 2007 he has worked on high-end documentary, light entertainment and drama. The hour long prime time documentary "Ulrika: Am I a sex addict" was aired in March on Channel 4 and in the same month "Green Pages", a short film shot in 2006, won Best Cinematography award Chicago Short Film Festival.

He was also DoP and Camera Supervisor for "Eating with the Enemy" a 6 camera food show, and the low budget feature "Garp" which he shot in Turkey is now in post production.

Phil Mash has now won two awards, the second being Best Digital Cinematography for "Fairytale of forgotten things" back in 2004. He continues to work in tv, corporate video and film and specialises in HiDef formats.
