Phil is currently working on lots of primetime tv shows for both UK and US production companies, as well as pop videos and high end corporate videos. He works as both Camera supervisor on multi-camera shoots and as a Lighting Cameraman / DoP, and he has extensive experience of both studio and location lighting.

He has worked all over the world and in some of the most challenging environments. Whether it’s filming husky dogs on the high-Arctic island of Svalbard, the aftermath of the Brevick massacre in Norway, arial filming over the island of Manhattan, or ‘housebuyers’ moving to Botswana Phil will help provide a relaxed and comfortable shoot.

After finishing a degree at Manchester University in 1995 Phil Mash decided to pursue his growing love of photography and film.

He worked for a year at Kairos Multimedia, filming and editing videos for both Kairos itself as well as The Message and The Worldwide Message Tribe, before getting a job at Shepperton Studios working as a camera assistant for Transmission TX learning on the then brand new digital formats.

He worked there for 2 years assisting on all kinds of shows including the BBC1 worldwide hit children’s show ‘Teletubbies’ for Ragdoll

In 1998 he went freelance and started pulling focus on commercials, pop promos, and short films working on Digi Beta and 16mm film.

Since 2000 he has been operating and lighting on increasingly more prominent tv shows, as well as working on short films and pop videos. In 2004 he won “Best Cinematography” for “Fairytale of Forgotten Things” at Greenwich short film festival, and in 2006 he won “Best Cinematography” for “Green Pages” at Chicago Short Film Festival.

Phil lives in Putney, London with his wife Rachel and their 3 sons Milo, Evan and Lenny.
